QLD: Leafy Lane Lakes – Off Grid Camp Spot (Big Rig Friendly & 1 Hour from Noosa)

QLD: Leafy Lane Lakes – Off Grid Camp Spot (Big Rig Friendly & 1 Hour from Noosa)

If you’re after a peaceful, off grid camp spot with lake views, space to spread out, and easy access for big rigs — Leafy Lane Lakes is a top pick. Just over an hour from Noosa, it’s a great base to explore local favourites like the Eumundi Markets, Australia Zoo, and the Sunshine Coast, while still enjoying quiet nights by the fire.

Previously known as Marshall Ski Lakes, this family-run campground has kept its relaxed vibe and welcoming feel — perfect for off grid travellers, families, and anyone chasing a nature break.

📍 Where is it?
Leafy Lane Lakes is located about 25 minutes from Bundaberg and a little over an hour from Noosa Heads. You’ll follow a dirt road into the campground, but it’s wide, well maintained, and easy to navigate, even with a big setup.

🛻 Big Rig Friendly?
Yep — no stress here. We had no issues getting in with our full-size bus and trailer. There’s heaps of open space to park, turn around, and set up how you like without feeling boxed in.

💰 How Much?

  • $20 per night for swags or sleeping in your car
  • $30 per night for tents, rooftop tents, campervans, caravans, buses, or motorhomes
  • Add $5 per night if you want a powered site (BYO 20m+ extension lead)
  • Fishing is $20 per day (catch and release, barbless hooks only)

No bookings needed. Pay cash on arrival or online via QR code (note: $5 fee for online payments). Head to the green-roofed office on the south side of the lake to register.

🏕 What’s on Offer?

  • Large powered and unpowered sites
  • Portable toilets (BYO toilet paper)
  • Pet-friendly
  • Campfires allowed (in pits or on grass)
  • Quiet midweek stays with minimal traffic
  • Lake access for kayaking and catch-and-release fishing
  • Beautiful birdlife and natural surroundings
  • Peaceful and family-run atmosphere

⚡️ Off Grid Notes
There’s no water or dump point, so come self-contained. Mobile reception is hit-and-miss depending on your provider — we had patchy Telstra coverage. Perfect for a digital detox or a solar-powered stopover.

📝 Our Thoughts
We stayed here back when it was still Marshall Ski Lakes and It’s low-key, laid-back, and well worth the $30 for the peace and space alone. You’ve got room to breathe, no noise from the highway, and relatively close to all the Sunshine Coast tourist attractions.

Whether you’re heading up the coast or looking for a few nights off grid with easy access to Noosa, we’d absolutely recommend it.
